@srdd I feel like privacy and independent conscious people moved from Telegram to Signal many years ago.

It's still not super popular, but it's the only IM service I've gotten both my boomer Facebook-hating (not using) folks and young people with little patience for difficult tech in the same group chat. Not perfect or anything, but def. worth giving a try. To me it's what Telegram should have been. That it's made by a non-profit dedicated to communication for people and not beholden to stock holders is a plus as well.

(Sorry for pushing a product here… I just think it's great and wish it had more mindshare than it has. :)
