@toddgrotenhuis Newfields there is a bike rack right next to the Pacers station here (assuming you're coming in on the canal trail). Don't know on Penrod

There's bike parking by the front doors of the museum and lots of things you could chain a bike to that are not bike parking.

No idea on difficulty of getting there from where you are. The sidewalks on the north of 38th are nice and wide but you have to cross two slip lanes crossing michigan if you're coming from the east (or 2 slip lanes on 38th from the south). If you're doing tow path then yeah it's pretty solid to get in there, though penrod may have some barriers that aren't normally there.
