Slowly shifting away from the m.b feed and to using RSS entirely. Also slowing shifting to posting to my site only with MarsEdit on my Mac. Feel like I’m getting closer to the golden age of 2007 :-)

@aa just wondering if you are pulling in your timeline feed here on M.b to RSS. I have done that and found it nice but I do find myself (like right now) still coming out to the timeline specifically.

@ericmwalk I've gone through the folks that I "follow" here and am attempting to subscribe directly to their blog (without all of their replies that otherwise appear on the timeline). Slow going at this point but am chipping away at it. Haven't quite figured out the best solution to sending a reply to someone's post...still thinking that through.

@aa @ericmwalk I’m doing both using the @sod’s experimental feeds and it is awesome!

@aa @ericmwalk I’ve switched to following my timeline exclusively in RSS, and it’s fantastic. Replies are a little more involved, but it’s much easier in terms of perusing when I have time. The app is bad for losing your place if you switch out of it, and it also loads at the most recent post.

@aa yeah that is where I kept gettting caught up is replying to someones post. So I pretty much took what @sod started (as @toddgrotenhuis said) and then did a little more work as my RSS reader did not accept JSON feeds. Then I used some filters to remove the other replys out of the feed. Additionally, I use another feed to pull in stuff so I only get replys to me (like this one). I probably should document this better at some point 😁

@ericmwalk I need to work on the feed to only get replies to me…enjoying this setup overall though! Nice to back in RSS :-)

@aa My feeling exactly. The feed is for socializing, RSS for reading. It may be the consequence of replies taking up the most space on the timeline (both because of frequency and unlimited length), and long titled posts being tiny in comparisson.
