@fgtech @cliffordbeshers it reminds me of all the drug ads that say, “Do not take such-and-such if you are allergic to it.”

@fgtech The crazy thing is that I've made bread with this and folks who can't eat commercial bread have no trouble with it.

@JMaxB @cliffordbeshers on this one there is a subtle distinction that matters to some: between true nuts and peanuts

@cliffordbeshers Oh, wow, I bet they love that. The gluten intolerant people in my family are always jealous that I can eat fresh bread. There is something primal about a good, crusty bread that’s just not satisfied by gluten-free alternatives.

@fgtech The suspicion is that what many people are really set off by is glyphosate, aka RoundUp from Monsanto. It's a weed killer, usually applied at the start of the growing season, but they discovered that it also acts as a dessicant, so American farmers took to spraying it on the crops as they were harvested to prevent mold. Hard to prove, but the simple solution of baking with freshly milled organic grains avoids the whole question and makes for much better bread.

@toddgrotenhuis @JMaxB Not so subtle to my sister-in-law who will need an epi pen and a hospital visit stat if she eats tree nuts.

@cliffordbeshers @jmaxb sorry, to be clear I meant the distinguishing was subtle (and missed by many), not that the impact is subtle.
