@ton is there a "show all my tasks" method in Obisidian? I can't seem to find one. This is the feature that has me on Roam instead of Obsidian. ToDos are referencable thus there is a page with backlinks to all the tasks. It seems like Todos in Obsidian are only brackets and not a functional item in Obsidian. Am I wrong?

@ton Or to put it another way "do I have to be one a page to see the tasks for that thing, or can I see them collected somewhere"

@toddgrotenhuis I don't even know if Obsidian has any support for tasks. What I do is I have tasklists (which are simple bullet lists) for each project, which are transcluded into a root list. They have tags for urgent, waiting etc. When I finish a task I don't cross it off, I cut it from the task list and paste into my day log note. Working on a project I have the project tasklist open, for review I use the root list. See the description in the post. I avoid functionality that leads to lock-in, so stay as close as possible to working with (marked up) plain text.

You can query tasks within Obsidian: Enter – [ ] in the search bar to see all notes with empty checkboxes. Check them off in preview mode. Enter – [x] to see completed tasks. Not ideal, but is does the trick.

I think _now_ there is: https://forum.obsidian.md/t/obsidian-release-v0-10-2/10290

You can include a “`query task:””“` in a note and it will show all tasks, from all files
