Is there an app for Mac I could use for QR scanning on screen (i.e. drag a box on screen and it would it read it as an image instead of using the camera)? The category on App store looks a bit suspect so I am hesitant to try any of those.

@tkoola backup plan if you have 2nd device: scan on phone & use Handoff (or whatever copy on iPhone paste on Mac is called)

@tkoola i have not found a way to do this yet that works consistently, but i usually use a combination of my phone and macbook or vice-versa, i've found the camera on the macbook does the job most of the time, but i feel your pain, it's something that should be easy to do, would love to hear if someone else has a better solution.

@tkoola I heard that some people are using QR journal but I have not used that myself. I mainly use my iphone for that

@slf yes, I feel like this should be a OS feature I could access through Shortcuts or scripting somehow. It obviously is not a big enough market to support a really good app.

@warner yes, this works the best but it still is unsatisfactory flow especially if the barcode/QR is embedded in a PDF document
