What technologies would you choose, if you were to write software that needed to run in year 2041? Additionally, you are not guaranteed a possibility to update your software between your first release and 2041.

@tkoola I've been thinking this a lot lately, and it still would have to be C, wouldn't it? Maybe one could imagine PHP (or WordPress) would be around that time, maybe Python but I am already less sure about those compare to C.

Hardware would be harder to select, is there anything outside some particular domains like space tech that had an expected life of 20 years?

@tkoola Java, Python, C ... too many companies have invested in them, probably some more modern languages also
