I’ve waited for 3 long years for a fast computer and the Mac Mini hits the spot. I’m so goddamn happy…

@tiffany looks awesome. Care to share what model you got? I'm also curious about which displays and keyboard you're using. (Considering a mini of my own)

@ciaran I got the 2018 3.6ghz i5 6 core processor, 256 gb of storage as I have 2 6tb drives connected to a HooToo hub, an LG 24" 4K monitor as well as an ASUS 28" 4K LED LCD monitor that I don't recommend, WASD keyboard with custom caps.

@ciaran the ASUS monitor is hard to calibrate and has significant dithering because for whatever reason I can't get the Mini to display the monitor at 60hz

@tiffany Very cool. I've been going back and forth regarding upgrading internal storage ca just getting external. Did you upgrade RAM? Do it yourself? Love the look of your keyboard!

@ciaran I got it with 16gb of RAM. They say you can easily upgrade the RAM but when you look at instructions or instructional videos it's really dicey

@tiffany I recently got nearly that exact same computer (I went with a 512gb SSD)! Like you, I couldn’t be happier about it. We had the same thinking about the RAM. I’m sure I could upgrade it, but are my hands and nerves steady enough to complete that actually very involved process? Luckily, I’ve not run into a single wall with it.

@tiffany my Acer ultrawide will only go 60+ hz if I connect USB-C to DisplayPort from my 2018 mini.

USB-C > USB-C = 30hz
HDMI > HDMI = 30hz
USB-C > DP = 75hz

Maybe worth a shot? 🤞
