💸 Money disappears pretty fast around here. Got a new bundle today, I’m good got another couple of days.

@thosch 1 euro is around 25 dobras. Some places will do 24,5, others 26. Luis does the round 25. 100 is 4€, I get 200€ at a time.

If we spend more time at the hotels, life is a lot more expensive for me, of course, but I can use my cards to pay.

In the city this lasts me under a week, depending on where we eat. Supermarket is super expensive, we don’t get a lot of supplies.

Meals can go from 6€ at very local restaurants, to 30€ at the one nicer place. Beer is just over 1€ at most places. A little higher if there is a shortage.

@maique What‘s the median income of the citizens?

@thosch Minimum wage, officially, is 100€. But a lot of people make well under that, 60€-80€.

The country is always found near the bottom of the lists of poorer nations in the world.

@ner3y We’ve been gone since July 24th. Going back on October 11th. Not all “vacation”, as my wife is working here, and so am I on a few days. And there’s not much work back home, anyway.
