One of the things I want to advance in my life is captured in spirit by this website Make Frontend Shit Again. We should have more spaces like early web, early Tumblr, Geocities and everything else silly and fun and not blue monoculture sites of doom…

@tkoola I remember making a 8x8 animgif that blinked black and white, and I used it as a background. On the page I had huge text with one word, (can’t remember which), then after about 10 seconds it meta refreshed to another page. Fun times!

@tkoola I forgot to tell that the animgif were repeated over the whole page, but I think you understood that. I was a bit worried about my CRT screen going between 0 and 100 like that, but it held up. I was trying to mimic the Last Train to Trancentral music video by KLF.

@tkoola Haha, it's nostalgic now, but I remember being sooo annoyed by these design choices at the time! 😂 I'd actually forgotten all about autoplaying music… It also cracks me up that the source code on Github is waaaaaay more complicated than just an old-skool HTML file and assets, hahah

@odd haha, CRTs. I remember one spec about my 2002 gaming PC - weight of the monitor 35kg 😀

@tkoola I only had a 17” from the nineties then, but it was heavy enough. Was it a 20”?

@odd it might have even been 24" if I am not mistaken, but it was heavy :)
