@vanessa somehow I find it both agitating and relaxing.

@stickmandiaries That's interesting. I think I agree with you. To be honest, I've never really thought about how any of these make me feel & yet that's precisely how I view art in general. Hmm, you've got me thinking now...

@vanessa I’m not sure what is agitating about it, maybe it’s the opposing shapes, but yes are makes us think.

@stickmandiaries Cyan is the complimentary color to red. The magentas and purples lean red. So they are almost compliments, but not quite and that helps create visual tension. {All those hours studying color theory come in handy at times!}

@vanessa It’s a beautiful drawing!

@Bruce Wow, that's fascinating! I know nothing of the science behind such things - purples, jades & turquoises are just colours I like. Intriguing; I think I might have to look into this more. @stickmandiaries

@Bruce @vanessa Bruce, something I would have never got thanks for your insight, but colour is a fascinating subject, as in what we like and don’t like. Right that’s my evening sort on the internet machine..

@vanessa @stickmandiaries Picture This: How Pictures Work by Molly Bang is a great primer on visual storytelling. She starts with very simple shapes and builds an entire world out of them. It’s revelatory read. 📚

@stickmandiaries @vanessa Also, it’s shocking how much our brain does to create our perception of color. If you know what you’re doing, you can make simple white light look like any color of the rainbow. 💡

@Bruce I think I realised that after the gold/white or blue/black dress thing. I've picked up the kindle version of that book, thanks. The joy of social media - so many people with different experiences that we can all learn from. Very glad I posted my little doodle now! @stickmandiaries

@Bruce without slipping off into a whole other realm 😀 Yes I find all of this stuff fascinating and the visual deficiencies that people struggle with ie colour blindness etc
