@sgtstretch seem like you don’t get adds thru the browser. Or they still show up and I just haven’t seen one?
@Gabz I feel the same. I only posted a few pics during Inktober, which we reposts of what I had on my site. Thing is there are some interesting folks to follow on the service (comic artists, stationary people, friends, family). These people are not going to follow me or ever come to Micro.blog (they barely made it onto Instagram)...I feel your dilemma
@kaa I hate these mental debates, I know the platform is something I don’t want to participate on but at the same time I get so much good stuff out of it but still feel sorry using it.
@sgtstretch now I’m thinking, you thing their algorithm works on the web site too, or not at all?
@Gabz I lurk on most social sites! Nothing wrong with folowing creators you enjoy.
@Gabz I haven’t dug into this yet, but I’m hoping to figure out how to turn Instagram feeds into RSS feeds, so I can follow certain people without the app.
@kordumb That looks really interesting; thanks for the pointer (not sure when I can dig into it, either, but it looks easy enough to install).
@Gabz Enjoy lurking, I say. I did the delete-my-account-because-facebook-and-reasons thing once too and it was a bad idea. I have an account again. I post a little, I read a lot, and it's fine. If I rage-quit and tell everyone they'll have to follow me over on (insert some other network nobody is using), I'll just annoy them and we will no longer get to see each others' posts.
@kordumb I used to use Yahoo Pipes (I think) for making RSS feed sour of pages that didn’t have them. That was many years ago. Thanks for the link.
