how are you able to get the url to put into the RSS feed app if all you have is @somebody@domain.tld?
On Mastodon instances (I’m not sure about other Fediverse software) you just add .rss to the profile URL. For example, I’m also at @kandr3s so the RSS link is https://fosstodon.org/@kandr3s.rss
