On one hand, doing replacing snow days with “non-traditional instruction” feels performative and inequitable, and I don’t think I like it. On the other, if kiddo isn’t going to have school tomorrow, I don’t necessarily mind her having things to keep her occupied while I do some work.

@spgreenhalgh Our district experimented with snow day “learning packets” a few years back and gave up. When we had them, I felt like then it was me having to supervise the kids through doing that while also working, and I’d rather be able to just say “Fine, screentime rules are suspended for the day” and be done with it.

@petebrown I think I would prefer packets to Chromebook work, but yes—either way, it's almost more trouble than it's worth.
