jdberry/tag: A command line tool to do tags on Mac files.
I don’t use tags much, mainly to quickly mark a set of files going down a list with quicklook. I’ve now got an applescript that will simply tag the selection in the finder blue. Keyboard shortcut via FastScripts.

@johnjohnston Looks like a handy tool! Another method for tagging in Finder is using the built-in keyboard shortcut (Control-5) to tag the selected files in blue.

Use keyboard shortcuts to tag files quickly—select a file, then use Control-1 through Control-7 to add (or remove) your favorite tags. Control-0 (zero) removes all tags from a file.

@sod Thanks. I was wondering why there was no keyboard shortcuts for and it turns out there are! My only excuse it that I learnt any shortcuts I use in system 7.5 🤣 Even better control-5 toggles blue. I was too lazy to work out how to do that.
