Iām looking for recommendations for a science fiction author. Someone current, with ongoing work.
@cliffordbeshers Kristine Kathryn Rusch with her wonderful Retrieval Artist series and also her Diving Universe series. Her novel The Renegat was utterly brilliant (Diving Universe) but a couple of the others in that series haven't grabbed me as much. The Retrieval Artist series is solid and excellent. She also writes in other genres. She is prolific.
@cliffordbeshers The Expanse series by James S.A. Corey is amazing and just finished in March.
The Murderbot Diaries series by Martha Wells is ongoing and will make you love a robot more than you love most people.
The Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons is equally wonderful, though it was written in the 90ās and is not ongoing.
@cliffordbeshers I second Martha Wells and the Murderbot Diaries. Becky Chambers is another author I treasure.
@sod @miraz @marclafountain Thank you all. I have read the first of the Retrieval Artist and Murderbot series. Both are intriguing and worthy candidates to pass on to the voracious reader I have in mind. He's already read The Expanse series. Hyperion Cantos and Becky Chambers may have to wait until the new year.
