I kinda feel like, if I (or 1Password) enters “Ohio” into your form, and your form shows no complaint nor attempt to format the field, then it’s on you, not me, when I click Submit only to then be told that the state must be a two-character code.

@muncman I thought that was one of the things that the old HTML5 Forms spec was designed to fix, but I guess not :-( Or maybe this form is really just dumb and chose not to specify the requirements…?

@smokey Yeah, I didn’t look at any source for it, but I suspect someone simply got lazy. Forms can be tedious, but the devil is in the details. The same form stopped me for two subsequent fields as well - oh well! :)
