And the more I think of this the more I realize that this is coming from my time in Micro.blog. Micro.blog kinda trained me to do so, it encourages interactions, to reach out to others and I think this is a behavior we have lost in other social media places
Exactly.
@Gabz @smokey I think part of the behavior is related to trust in the behavior of a community too. On twitter, my account is locked down and I barely interact because so much of the reaction to disagreement is vitriol. Here I can respond to something and, even where I disagree, generally expect a pleasant back and forth.
@sproutlight that’s true, it’s like everyone on Twitter it’s always on the defensive. Like people on a highway.
@frostedechoes yeah, Micro.blog kind spoils you a bit. You kinda expect the same type of interactions but nope!
@Gabz I like that analogy of Twitter being like people on a highway! What a great comparison.
@Gabz “social” media in general needs an overhaul. Not sure what it looks like in the future, but hopefully better than what it is currently.
Lately I’ve been feeling like an old man yelling at the neighbor kids to get off of my lawn: “Stop posting on someone else’s website! Get your own blog!”
part of the behavior is related to trust in the behavior of a community too.
Oh, that’s a very good point; we’re always trying to be on our best behavior here :-) // @Gabz
@dominikhoecht Hense why micro.blog is my favorite sapce in the internet. Thank you for reading.
@jayroddi thank you ! And yes it is a piece of code you can add and I am trying to find it so I can share it! //cc @simonwoods do you know where to find the “on this day” code or information on where to find it by chance? (I should save these links)
@jayroddi I am finally seeing more memories now. And it’s kind of nice. Every morning I visit my on website just to check and see. Enjoy!
