@Mtt I was a geography/map fan, so I knew the trouble with Mercator, but that’s a cool GIF I’d not seen before :-)
When I was in school, we had a surprising number of Goode homolosine maps, along with the occasional Mercator and a good collection of other pseudocylindrical projections (probably mainly Mollweide, with Robinson starting to make inroads at the end).
@smokey Awesome about having those at your school. We had those traditional wall maps and some rarely used globes. Looking back, I’m pretty certain my Geography teacher didn’t know about all of this.
@artkavanagh Yeah, that’s a big difference with Russia. Especially if you look at in the context of WWII and the like.
