@simonwoods Based on my own experience. Women seem to know the names for many more shades of color than most men do. Men just round off to the nearest whole color while women are more exacting. I can't prove it but I think women are more immersed in identifying fine shades of colors than men (eg. matching makeup to skin tone/lighting/hair/eyes, fashion and decorating) from an early age.
