You were most likely affected by the Equifax breach in 2017. Don’t forget to claim at least $125. First check if your information was impacted at the link on the same page. Mine was 😐

@pratik Thanks for the reminder and link! I heard a bit about this but didn't realize there was an option for a flat $125 settlement in lieu of (probably mostly useless, and in my case redundant anyway) credit monitoring. Put in my claim just now!

@pratik thanks for the heads up! Sad to see that two of my kids had their information exposed, and they're no where near old enough to have Equifax creeping on them.

@smokey they’re not supposed to knowingly collect that data, but it’s hard to have the social security number and not the date of birth. But that’s the whole game, right? These private companies scraping personal data without consent. And we’re not their customers, financial institutions and employers are.
