@Burk It’s from a Japanese book called Pattern Magic. The idea is that you start by drafting a ‘sloper’ (a kind of basic template pattern fitted to your body) then the instructions just show you diagrams of how you cut and manipulate your sloper to make the pattern.

@Alcedine So far, so good - I’ve finished making the pattern. It looks pretty weird but the pattern in the book does too, so hopefully it will work out!

@bsag that’s exciting! I’ve never done a sewing project before where I had to actually make the pattern as well first.

@Alcedine It can actually be a bit of a shortcut because using the sloper as a base means it automatically fits you, so you don’t need to alter a pattern to make fit adjustments. It is a bit of a step into the unknown though! Ideally I would make a muslin first but 🤷‍♀️
