@holliston don’t know it counts if your feet aren’t in the picture. Have a good flight!

@holliston Micro.blog’s first meme is most assuredly the PDX airport carpet 😂 Even those of us who’ve never been there now know what it is thanks to all of you Portlanders(?) posting it 😃 // @dejus

@smokey Tradition! It’s so we can hold a the last bit of Portland in our cameras before we leave for a while. I didn’t realize it was first meme!

@holliston

It’s so we can hold a the last bit of Portland in our cameras before we leave for a while.

Oh, cool; that’s a great reason.

Not so much a meme in the normal Internet/social media sense (of “post something silly and/or stupid featuring a cat who replaces the letter S with Z, or which insensitively appropriates the reaction of an African-American female, posted over and over for laughs”), more in the sense of “the nearly-same photo posted by everyone departing/arriving PDX”.

Micro.blog: even our memes are different and thoughtful ;-)

@smokey yeah, it is a bit of a meme amongst Portlanders. Which made many sad when PDX replaced the carpet a while ago, even when it was with very similar design. (Fun fact: there is a small section of the original carpet remaining at the end of one of the concourses, specifically so people can take pictures with it.) Also, like with Kiwis, there seems to be a disproportionally high number of Portlanders on Micro.blog; perhaps not surprising with @macgenie involved.

@dejus I have noticed the strong showing of Portland folks, too :-)
