@jack What a treasure; so glad you did all of this (rescued the negatives, scanned them, and now the gallery).

@jack These images are just incredible. So much life in them! @smokey Thank you for pointing them out (and for the public welcome)!

@twelvety @smokey I thought maybe I was just being odd, finding them so delightful. Nice to have company:). In order to make sure they don't get lost buried in that static gallery, I've also created a Found Negatives album on Flickr.

@jack Excellent! That Flickr gallery with the large renderings makes it even easier to get lost in those slices of life.

@jack That’s great. I wonder if you have a local historical society that would appreciate knowing about them, too? And when they go to town to the furniture store, is that long-ago Grand Rapids (I recall the ferry had Grand Rapids listed as its homeport)?

@twelvety You made quite the entrance here, which deserved an equal welcome :-)

When @jack first started posting these images, they really made an impression on me (in a way that I can’t fully explain), I think because I’ve seen so many similar images of my own family over the years—the settings, the poses, the attire and hairstyles…I didn’t know these people, but I felt a little like I might.

@jack These are all so great. So many expressions. And the fact that the origin's unknown leaves the door open for imagining so many stories around each. It indeed is a treasure trove.

@smokey Thank you! And I fully agree about those images! People back in those days could act as goofy as we can now.
