41 homophobic things straight people say every day without realising You’re probably homophobic. Even if you don’t think you are, or if you don’t mean to be, I guarantee that on a regular basis you say homophobic things you don’t even realise are actually incredibly rude and harmful.... timmmmy.blog

@smithtimmytim This is a shame:

I can’t quite believe we still need to explain this, but if you’re using “gay” in a negative way when what you really mean is “that’s so annoying/stupid/lame” , you’re literally just being homophobic.

… because they’re literally just using ableist language.

There are three people on the byline and nobody caught that. Yikes.

@simonwoods Oh no… I feel horrible that I don't even remember reading that part.

@smithtimmytim Sorry, I didn’t mean it that way. It seems like a very good article, a primer even though no straight person should feel owed such a thing.

Lack of intersectionality is one of those things I see a lot ever since I learned about it. I’m especially sensitive when people want to make use of righteous words and sensational headlines.

@smithtimmytim I tried to read the article you linked to but there were so many pop-ups. They must really not want visitors to their site.
