🔌 Charging lights, phones, etc and making sure that candles are at the ready, just in case the power goes out tonight as Tropical Storm Hone arrives in the islands.

@crossingthethreshold Stay safe out there. Hopefully just a little rain for you and less wind.

@skoobz @Miraz Thank you both. At the moment it feels like the lull before the storm here. Overcast but a break from the rain.

I’m not sure the Big Island of Hawai’i is getting it so easy right now (thinking of @hawaiiboy)? The center of the storm is due to make land fall or past close to the southern tip of the island - they’ll get it worse. I have just taken a look at the satellite image and both the Big Island and Maui are all but covered by storm clouds. A drenching of some sort is coming.

@crossingthethreshold There's a gap in the rain right now, but the air feels very thick, like it's going to cut loose anytime

@hawaiiboy I hope that you get a good night’s sleep. It feels warm outside, the wind has definitely picked up, and showers are falling intermittently. We are not as close to the center of the storm as you, but the weather is telling us that there is something out there!
