NBA Free Agency started at 6pm and it’s already WILD. Kyrie and KD are reportedly going to Brooklyn. Al Horford just signed a four year deal in Philly. And Kemba’s going to Boston. The NBA is fantastic! 🏀

@dustdaughter These last three hours have been entertaining for sure. Just glad I’m not a Knicks fan.
@dustdaughter @sku\_b Agreed on all counts, guys. And not just because I’m a big Brooklyn Nets fan. 😉 The NBA offseason is wild and woolly! 🏀
@grayareas I basically stand as not entrenched with a team, being the Sonics are on hiatus. That said, I’m a big KD fan due to his continued love shown towards Seattle, so I’ll definitely get into the Nets again. Watched them a little when they first moved to Brooklyn and enjoyed their set up. Ownership at the time made me question if they knew what they were doing long term though. But with the new group they have there, it’s obvious they are on the right track now. Between them and New Orleans, it shows what the right front office setup will do for you.
@sku\_b Good to hear! I’m right there with you on the Nets and Pels. Two orgs doing things the right way.
@sku\_b "on hiatus"... 😂 Seattle is one of the places I'd eventually like to live, but it's hard to stomach a city without an NBA team. 🤞
@kordumb I hear you, but I feel good about it. Kyrie said a lot of stupid things in public, granted; he’s a real eccentric. But, from the many things I’ve read, I believe the problems in Boston last season were complex and not in any way the work of a one-man band
@kordumb I wanted to try to live in Seattle, but the cost of living has me looking elsewhere in Washington. I’d still like to be close to there.
@grayareas maybe... The fact Horford left despite Kemba coming probably lends itself to your line of thinking. I just see Y1 being a repeat of BOS and Y2 being a repeat of CLE behind KD. It may not have been the work of a one-man band, but if you divvy up the pie, I bet he has the biggest slice.
@kordumb We’ll see. There are risks with each player, certainly. But I’m definitely okay with the risk. I think it was one you have to take — one that nearly every team in the league would take. And it doesn’t have to end in a championship for me to remain happy with it. Go Nets!
@kordumb What do you think about the Bulls’ signings? Both are good players, but I don’t understand the big-picture plan. 🏀
@grayareas eh... I would've tried to bring Taj back over Young. Really worried Young is just going to take too many minutes from Carter's development. And I would've thrown all the money at Beverley. If Beverley is set on being on a playoff team, then try to bring Rose back. Otherwise, Satoransky and Young are fine. It's a developmental year for the current core. Best case scenario is a ten seed, with playoff hopes the following year. Bev, Rose, and Taj would be great as locker room vets and be a good Chicago story. It could be worse though.
@kordumb Agreed. At least they signed good players. It could have been worse, for sure. 🏀 🐂
@kordumb It would have been great to have Taj back to tutor the young guys. Seeing him in a Knicks uni is gonna make me sad. 🏀
@grayareas yeah, I think the bulls are going to be sorely missing a veteran presence in the locker room. RoLo did a decent job balancing out LaVine's attitude. I don't see Young or Satoransky being able to fill that role. Taj would have been perfect but maybe Young will be a stronger presence than I'm expecting. The younger guys seem to be much softer spoken, at least around LaVine. I could see this being a huge year for Lauri if LaVine gives him the chance and he stays healthy.
