NBC Universal and YoutubeTV are in contract dispute with the usual threats to yank 14 channels from YTTV. Youtube says they’ll drop their price by $10 if that happens. NBC just happens to own Comcast/Xfinity which is a direct competitor to YTTV. 🤔 📺 I think I don’t care.

@ronguest Problem with that attitude is Comcast isn’t available everywhere where YTTV is. Do they really want to take eyes off those channels? I wouldn’t mind the price drop though.

@davidixon Fair point. Funny part about this is my main reason for having live TV is for live sports and Universal is in the process of pushing all their live sports to Peacock, as they’re killing off NBCSN at the end of the year. The rest of their content can be found on demand on Peacock.

@sku_b One of things I learned from Covid is I don’t mind so much losing some sports. I’d rather have the sports I want but I don’t think I’m willing to pay for 5 or 10 different services to get them even if the total price was about the same. E.g. the Peacock app sucks and is limited for DVR type activity. I virtually always watch sports on some sort of time delay. Without that ability I just won’t be able to watch.

@ronguest I'm with you, especially the "Peacock app sucks" part. Their promise of what it would be is a failure - hoping they iterate. I'm down to 2 1/2 sports that I care about, European Soccer, MLB and some College football. I've seen very few live games of teams that I care about this year. Relegated to reading boxscores.

@ronguest They’re the ones with Premier League. Only reason I have them.
