@Gaby What I do is set up a new blog and retire the old one, changing what location springdew.com points to. I then put a link to the old journals from the menu. See the upper left menu for example.
@Gaby Would turning off pagenation be enough for you?
@Gaby I don’t have a schedule but like to get rid of old stuff. I don’t see any upside in keeping things for years
@hjertnes I guess it is nice if you want to refrence something back on a new post or something of sorts. Sometimes Is also fun having a look at my “on this day”. However, I have an IFTTT action that any post i make here, creates an entry in Day One, So i still get the “On this Day” notification.
@Gaby That’s a great idea to add that to DayOne :D I just don’t care that much about having stuff available forever on my blog. The stuff I care about I put on my wiki. EIther first or I add it to it when I delete stuff from my website
@hjertnes I have a hard-time grassping what a Wiki is or how to create/mantain one, I mean I have an idea but not clear enough to go “I am gonna make one!” SO I just post nonsense and let DayOne grab all that in the background without me knwing. What will I do with it? who knows lol
@Gaby I’d say blogs are like cities. It doesn’t matter that you can see the different eras. It adds to the charm of the town (or blog). Embrace the history
@Gaby A blog is in a lot of ways just as dumb as Twitter. It’s just this flat feed
A wiki is more like a folder on your computer where you can nest things however you want and link stuff together
And the good ones also show the stuff that links to a particular I page
Blogging is about writing new stuff, a wiki is as much about updating the existing
