Listening to last week’s Accidental Tech Podcast– I’m befuddled by Marco Arment’s inability to boot an M1 Mac Mini without any human interface devices. Mine does it just fine. Perhaps the trick is rebooting it using Screen Share? I dunno. The Mac Mini is a great server for me.

@kurite I've been thinking about using Mac Mini as a server, too. Glad to hear it works for some!

@toddgrotenhuis @kurite I remember having issues when I first set up my Mini as headless/remote. Had to use it with a connected keyboard and set up to specifically be headless/remote. This was with both a 2009, and 2018 Mini.

@sgtstretch I only recall having to attach a keyboard and mouse on first boot but don’t recall making any other changes. I should keep better notes.

@kurite I think half of my issue was that I had a MacBook Pro, and no external keyboard/mouse at the time I set up the 2009 Mini.
