I’ve managed to follow enough people who post regularly on m.b. that I’m starting to miss posts. 🤔 …mixed feelings about this.

@kitt you are not the first person to observe that, he observes as he spots an original post to respond to!

I have seen suggestions that color could be used so you can quickly scan and see.

I would love to have a filter: original only - conversation only - full monty.

@kitt bookmarking in the timeline would go a long way towards making this better. OTOH, the « completionist » aspect of catching up my twitter feed left me exhausted

@kulturnation where would you expect this click to be on the website? what page(s)?

@seishonagon yes to the bookmarking. I think the difference here for me, however, is that with a single exception, every account I follow is a person. I like that. I miss that about early twitter, the community of people and what they found interesting, difficult, amusing, etc. People are fascinating! :) I'm sad to miss some of the stories here (though excited this community is growing!).

@kitt Last night I noticed I’m nearing the same problem. I was on the road or visiting relatives all day yesterday, & catching back up in my timeline took a while. Rather than porting over Twitter features, I hope a solution organic to micro.blog emerges.

@kitt Had a similar experience recently! Fortunately you can go back further on the mobile app now!

@kitt I think that is a good thing honestly. Means that the platform is growing and healthy.

@schuth I think one major thing that is different is the ability to follow your timeline in an RSS reader. Obviously that doesn’t change the amount of posts, but it’s easier to be able to read the whole thing over time and catch up, rather than it just falling of the grid. I also think not having “click to repost” or showing public likes helps make the entire timeline valuable in ways that Twitters hasn’t been in a LONG time.

@kitt I've been experiencing this too! Some days I just don't even get around to browsing and feel like I have missed out when I do tune in. But then again, I don't feel particularly tethered to my feed and I like that too.

@kitt My understanding is that Micro.Blog only shows the most recent 25 posts, so there is always going to be something you are going to miss out on. I've even seen days where my most recent post/update doesn't make it to my timeline.
