šŸ†•šŸ“ An unexpectedly tense but productive day in homeownership

The day didn't go as planned, but that's okay.

@jarrod if you like having a wood burning stove, for example because it can be used without electricity, I can attest that modern EPA certified wood stoves are an efficient and cleaner option in the past.

@jarrod and I thought I have had a stressful few days! Best of luck too you, those sorts of double whammys really reinforce the ā€œwhen it rains it poursā€ idea…

@briandigital Although my heart’s with a wood stove, I think we’re going to go with propane since our wood stove’s chimney is totally screwed, and propane (which we already have for appliances) can also be used without electricity. We definitely need a backup option here!

@scattershot Haha, sure do. But in the end we have both heat and water, so things can’t be too bad. šŸ™‚

@jarrod ah. We got our chimney repaired, and relined along with our new stove. We electrified everything else so we wouldn’t regularly be burning anything in our house.

@briandigital I would love to do that. Eventually my goal is to do heat pumps for the main cooling/heating, electrify the rest of the appliances, and just have propane as the backup heat. But that’s way down the road. All electric setups aren’t much of a reality around us yet. šŸ˜•
