šŸ†•šŸ“ An unexpectedly tense but productive day in homeownership

The day didn't go as planned, but that's okay.

@jarrod if you like having a wood burning stove, for example because it can be used without electricity, I can attest that modern EPA certified wood stoves are an efficient and cleaner option in the past.

@jarrod and I thought I have had a stressful few days! Best of luck too you, those sorts of double whammys really reinforce the "when it rains it pours" idea...

@briandigital Although my heartā€™s with a wood stove, I think weā€™re going to go with propane since our wood stoveā€™s chimney is totally screwed, and propane (which we already have for appliances) can also be used without electricity. We definitely need a backup option here!

@scattershot Haha, sure do. But in the end we have both heat and water, so things canā€™t be too bad. šŸ™‚

@jarrod ah. We got our chimney repaired, and relined along with our new stove. We electrified everything else so we wouldnā€™t regularly be burning anything in our house.

@briandigital I would love to do that. Eventually my goal is to do heat pumps for the main cooling/heating, electrify the rest of the appliances, and just have propane as the backup heat. But thatā€™s way down the road. All electric setups arenā€™t much of a reality around us yet. šŸ˜•
