Last night we had clear skies and perfect lighting for the SpaceX launch out of Vandenberg AFB (8:47PM PDT).

A rocket exhaust plume rises from the top of a mountain,

The three bright lines inside the plume are the pair of ejected fairings and the first stage.

Closeup of the rocket plume, with three bright lines trailing behind the rocket.

Just over a minute after the rocket appeared from behind the mountain. Wide view of the rocket and mountain, a bit later, the rocket is further and the contrail is beginning to disperse.
