Upgraded my MBP to Catalina this morning and it was a flawless experience. Downloaded quickly and installed in the normal time frame. So far everything seems to be working fine, including Sidecar (which I think I’m going to love).

I had already dealt with 32 bit apps. 💻

@ronguest Do you recall how long it took after the download was complete? Progress meter hasn’t moved in a long time.

@joejenett Once it rebooted (black screen w/white Apple logo) - I’m guessing - took about 30 minutes. It was for sure less than an hour.

Note this is on a SSD MBP. Non-SSD takes much longer based on past experience. Also, this is a 2019 MBP.

@ronguest Thanks Ron. My iMac is older and has a fusion drive which might be the problem. It’s been over an hour but I’ll just keep it running and hopefully it’ll get there eventually (like a certain airline does). 😎

@joejenett I have a fusion drive iMac. I haven’t updated it to Catalina yet but based on past comparisons it takes much longer than my SSD MBP. So patience is best.

@ronguest It finished fine in about one more hour - thanks for the feedback. My Air upgrade is going much faster...
