Our teenage daughter unearthed a 10 year old 7.9” iPad while cleaning her room. The home button stopped working long ago and it only runs iOS 9.3.5 which precludes pretty much all apps. It has no trade value still I hesitate to recycle it. 🤔

@ronguest Maybe you can use it as a digital photo frame.

@mjdescy @ronguest I have been thinking old iPads could make nice Calendars if there are (or are made) such apps. (Or maybe a time/date combo).

@odd That's a good idea.

Many years ago I had a couple iPad apps that I used for calendar, clock, weather, etc. I almost forgot about them. One was Status Board, which was a Panic app. The other one was called Work Calendar or something like that. It had widgets and looked pretty nice. I used them while I was working when I wasn't using my iPad for anything else.

@ronguest @mjdescy @odd We are planning to use our oldest iPad in the kitchen as a recipe portal. It won’t matter if stuff spills on it since it is past “end of life” in other ways. Photo frame is another option I considered.
