It seems like the worst of the outages is behind us. The inside temp is up 5F and the power stays on longer than off. The forecast calls for above freezing temps on Saturday so hopefully the kids can get back to school on Monday. I’m relived for us but many still lack power. 😞

@ronguest Now it’s the water shortage that’s worrying us. We have already resorted to bringing in snow to melt to use in our toilets.

@pratik That’s a good approach for sure. Our water pressure is OK still, we’re just being asked to conserve. Hopefully further water main breaks will be contained quickly.

@ronguest That’s good to hear. I guess only Austin Water has fucked up and they don’t have an ERCOT to pass the buck to. They had the gall to scold customers for dripping water during the freeze when they had indicated as late as yesterday that there’s no truth to the rumors of water shortage.

We closed our water shutoff by the curb before we went to sleep last night.
