It’s nice to have extra space instead of the stock 16 GiB that comes with the Raspberry Pi 400. 👨‍💻

@rom No, samba file sharing with my iPad using the Documents app.

@rom I also don’t know if the Raspberry Pi even supports booting from an external drive. Anyway, it’d be slow with USB3 anyway.

@rom And with micro SD as the boot drive, it’s far easier to swap those instead of external drives.

@renevanbelzen I agree. got a couple of different RPi distro on different SD cards. haha

@renevanbelzen oh, I stopped using samba (for some reason, RPi hangs with samba and a mounted external drive on USB 3). I use ShellFish app on iOS and iPadOS to access subdirectories off of the RPi. :)
