@toddgrotenhuis "Phosphoros" for "morning star" was a little much. Maybe he should have gone all out and used "Lucifer". ( 2 Peter 1:19). Sometimes he just seems to be contrary.
@toddgrotenhuis Richard Beck’s blog has some great reflections on DBH’s translation if you want to understand the cosmological frame Hart tries to move readers into.
@robertsapunarich yes! That’s where I first heard of the translation. Beck is my fave.
@toddgrotenhuis N T Wright and D B Hart had a very public spat about this translation. Not my circus, but if you admire both of them, it might be worth looking up.
