After three good years with Craft, I’ve moved my reading notes and PKM to Bear. I really love Bear’s simplicity and hidden power on both Mac and iOS. No futzing, just my words. Blog post: Bear 2 for Writing and Thinking.

@robertbreen "saved to read later". Interested in your motivations for making the switch.

@robertbreen Great thoughts on Bear. It really is a terrific app. It can be simple, but also quite powerful (but not in the ways Obsidian or Drafts can be so powerful). My current favorite use is as a study tool - one of Bear’s widgets can bring a random note on screen, filtered by tag. My favorite note-taking app can give me surprise flash cards :)

@numericcitizen Craft has become an amazing app for collaboration with small teams. If I were still working, there's no doubt I would be using it with my team. Bear feels to me like where Craft would have gone if it weren't for the more lucrative corporate market... Curious to know your thoughts on Craft's ability to straddle both individual and team note-taking needs...

@dgreene196 That's fantastic! I never would have thought to do that. Honestly, I didn't understand the point of home screen widgets until I started using Bear. Now, they're an indispensable way I use the app.

@robertbreen for now, Craft is veering toward collab features... and the core is suffiering from bugs, missing basic features... but I'm patient.

@robertbreen I read your article and boy you are nearly convincing me to export all my readwise highlights and imported articles currently in Craft into Bear. I can see both app coexist in my workflow. I'm giving myself a week for this to decide.
