I’m really close to ordering ReMarkable 2. My primary focus is to use it for distraction-free thinking and journaling. Do you have one? I would like to know your thoughts and opinions. Cheers! 📱

@ridwan I had a ReMarkable 2 and posted a review. It was posted a long time ago and the software has come a long way since then.

I liked the device but wasnt using it much and sold it and replaced it with an iPad. I kindof regret that decision today. It seems to be a lot better than it was.

@ericgregorich Thanks for the detailed review. Much appreciated. I guess, most of the issues would have been fixed by software updates.

My primary reason for the purchase would be distraction-free thinking and handwritten notes that can be exported easily.

@ericgregorich Have you thought of Kindle Scribe? I think they are doing well with the frequent software updates. I feel like Scribe is aimed to get people into the Kindle ecosystem rather than "focus thinking" as marketed by ReMarkable.

@ridwan Just want to throw in a good word for the Supernote if you’re still comparing devices. I’ve had one for a couple of months now and it’s been a great replacement for my paper notebook and the drawing app I used to run on my iPad

@ridwan I've thought about the Scribe but I'm waiting to see if the software improves. I haven't looked at it recently.

@decarbonization I did look at SuperNote but they are expensive and with delivery to the UK; I think there is a possibility of paying customs duty. So stopped looking at it. I think for what I'm after, RM2 should be good.

@jakelacaze Of course nothing beats physical notebooks. I do have an iPad that I bought on 2021 but rarely use it these days. My primary need is to have distraction free thinking and easy backup of all my notes.

@ericgregorich Scribe has come a long way. It is basically a Kindle with note taking capabilities for Kindle ebooks. RM2 comes with a 100 day return policy; if this doesn't work out I might return it for a full refund.

@ridwan Ahh interesting. I went with the Supernote in part because the bunle was cheaper than the RM2 with stylus and case for me. It’s wild how much that can vary place to place

@decarbonization Are you enjoying the experience? What are your thoughts on e-ink tablets?

@ridwan Very much so! I've used my Supernote pretty much everyday since I got it. I think that e-ink tablets are really a completely separate class of device. A regular tablet is basically a full computer with all the distractions and temptations that go along with that, whereas an e-ink tablet feels like a paper notebook with superpowers -- I love being able to undo. I think it's a defining feature that they don't have apps, the web, or a color screen. I know you can ignore those things on a regular tablet, but the temptation is always there to do more. I'd highly recommend an e-ink tablet if you're looking for a device that helps you think and stay organized
