Social Media, and Me: brooksreview.net

@ben I don’t get a specific part of your last post. You say “Postswill mostly get cross-posted to Twitter. I won’t check replies, or timelines on Twitter, but I will check DMs”

But why do you crosspost them to Twitter then? What if people want a conversation there?

@ben Makes a lot of good points in Social Media, and Me. In particular I think this is worth contemplating:

Yes, news is full of bullshit now, but that’s the world I live in work in, and I refuse to be blind to that world

@frank why do I care if they get crossposted or not? Some people use it for their RSS feed.

@ben but if I understand correct, you post things here that get crossposted to Twitter right? So why do that if you don’t care about the responses on your crossposted things and links? Just curious to know.

@frank stopping the cross posting is effectively me saying: I want to control what you use. I am trying to avoid that this time around.

@ben Interesting read! I am at a crossroads as well with my use of Twitter. I am finding more and more people I care about migrating to micro.blog and that makes me happy. I am so close to deleting Twitter from my phone. My only concern is where I will get news.

@ben nice work.

@ben Glad to see some people moving away from Twitter. Feels like 10 years ago again.

@ben excellent post, Ben. Its been fun seeing you transition over to Micro.blog, and embracing it. I've been a reader of your website for some time.
