@Vanessa The fireplace has a lot of meaning. The shiplap was wood that was harvested from pine trees that was on my in-law’s lot when they bought it about 25 years ago. The mantle came from the top of my grandad’s workshop (he was a carpenter.)

@vanessa Thanks. It’s 2,100 square feet. We are really happy with how it all turned out, especially the fireplace. Our builder said it was his favorite and that it turned out better than any others he has done.
@jmreekes It's lovely to have things with meaning, plus a house designed to your specifications. They doesn't happen over here much.
@vanessa We were very lucky to be able to do this at our age (I just turned 32 and wife will be 32 in October), and we know it.
