@darrenhester It’s been fantastic for me. I’ve found people I really enjoy talking with, I feel comfortable sharing more here, and it never feels like Micro.blog is stealing my attention. 👍👍

Micro∙blog has been great as a social network for me. One major problem, though, is finding interesting people. On micro∙blog it's mostly tech enthusiasts, which I am not, so I had to widen my scope of followers to Mastodon (for now no Threads here in the EU).
I'm also happy spammers, scammers and other individuals with bad intent are actively blocked, even if they're willing to pay, be denied, lengthily dispute through a credit card company to get access that way, and still aren't allowed to spew their awful content on this community. I'd pay for only that, yet it's included for anyone who pulls content via the publicly accessible micro∙blog social media feed. That content is actively monitored by a human and pretty much safe.
@darrenhester Welcome! I've enjoyed it here on Micro.blog and I've found plenty of wonderful people to follow and interact with. (though it took a bit and I needed to use the conversations people were having to find new people to follow 😊)
@darrenhester Welcome 👋🏻 I came to Micro.blog with similar burnout and discovered that the blog part of this service can be just as rewarding as chatting with the awesome people here. Unlike the capsule hotels that social networks rent you, Micro.blog is a village where you get your own house. Don’t be afraid to experiment with your site and create things for your own enjoyment. For example, reading lists are super popular here but I’m more of a music person so I rolled my own page for that. I hope you enjoy it here.
