Spent the last day and a half on and off figuring out how to use pandoc to make my org-mode files in pretty, readable docx files, including tables. It was a challenge, but it’s worth it. The key is to use a reference doc and to know how to use it. Need to expend on that.

@jtr That would be really useful. I look forward to hearing how you worked it out.

@randyridenour out of curiosity - what’s your use case?

@adamsdesk It helps me write my stuff in Emacs org-mode, and not in Word, where I tear my eyebrows out (don’t have any hair left on my head), figuring out the ever-changing ribbon. It’s not just a great tool, it keeps me sane :D

@jtr Yeah Word or should I say Microsoft have an unique ability to drive users mad.

@jtr I’m in the humanities, where everything seems to require Word. Org export to ODT always requires too much post-export fiddling to make it look good. I really would like to be able to minimize the pain.

@randyridenour I know this pain. Used to do the same thing and modify ODT files after the fact, and it’s too annoying and prone to mistakes.
