I’m trying out Apple Music because I got a free trial. I know I shouldn’t care about this because it is perfectly functional but I can’t get past the fact the UI feels like when I used iTunes in 2010 😭 It’s a real Spotify for boomers vibe.

@rachsmith Why’d you have to come at me like this just as I was about to shut down the computer and listen to some music? 😆 (jk i don’t enjoy Apple Music’s UI either.)
@rach i’ve also found its recommendations for other music I might enjoy severely lacking compared to Spotify.
@cferdinandi My most used feature on Spotify is the “song radio” thing as a quick way to generate playlist suggestions based on the vibe of a single song. It looks like Music has a similar thing “create station” but you can’t see the upcoming list of songs?
@rach I do something similar. Truthfully, I’ve never given Apple Music a long enough try to dig into all of the features. I’ve tried to find related music I like, been unsuccessful, and just gone back to Spotify.
I’ve actually found Pandora best of the bunch at generating random playlists.
@cferdinandi @rach I switched from Spotify to Apple Music. For a little while I found it “ew, different” but then got used to it. Also took the (necessary?) time to train it with thumbs ups / thumbs downs for a bit, and, like Spotify, it eventually “got me” and recommends some great stuff.
