She Has Her Mother’s Laugh by Carl Zimmer is a thorough, detailed, and fascinating book about heredity. I appreciated that Zimmer expanded heredity well beyond genes to make the important point that we inherit many things from our parents 📚

@mroutley I'm two-thirds of the way through the audiobook. I've been at it for a long time. As a non-biologist, it can be quite dense in parts although the history bits interest me the most.

@pratik I did have to take it out of the library twice to finish it, so definitely a long read. I'm trained as a biologist and still found the history bits the most interesting.

@mroutley I'm on my third round from the library :) The audiobook is just over 20 hours long. My wife, who was also trained as a geneticist recommended it to me.
