@adders I dunno. As a long-time subscriber to two of Craig's newsletters, his openings are something I just skip. But imagine they're useful to others.

@jeremycherfas I think the point is that they're useful for both growth and retention. And as his is a business proposition (for him, at least) that's important.

There's a clear distinction between the ways you might run a newsletter as a hobby and as a business.

@adders True, although I don’t see a hard line between business and hobby. I know you have paid and free. I have only free, although I also regard it as marketing or promotion.
