@Gabz The Apple Upgrade program helps me justify upgrading every year coz monthly cost stays the same. Of course, AT&T activation fee and sales tax notwithstanding
@pratik that’s another option, but if I wanted to get in that program I’d still have to finish paying my current phone to Verizon before I can do it thru Apple, I believe.
@pratik yeah, I’m still shacked to Verizon lol, my wife on the other hand, since she never upgraded her iPhone X, she might be out of payments soon.
@Gabz The most I weigh this in my head, the more I’m ready to stand pat. I’m in the middle of writing about this, but overall I can’t justify upgrading from my X this year, especially with a rumored redesign for 2020.
@pratik We went with the Apple Upgrade program when the X came out. It was such a new design I was a bit worried about how well we’d like it and how reliable it would be. Turns out it was fine. But we don’t plan to replace them until probably next year. Which means 1 year of no payments.
@sku\_b I’m in the “waiting” camp. Not that there’s anything wrong with the new ones it’s just that there isn’t enough in them, for us, to justify an upgrade. We plan to give our son his first phone Christmas of 2020 and might give him one of our X if the cost makes sense.
@ronguest No payments must be nice. I admit that getting a new iPhone every year is one vice that I give in too. We did do a major purge of digital subscriptions and other recurring expenses.
@sku\_b As it right now, I’m thinking about holding off. Also I may get a work phone so if I’m lucky enough to land an Xs or even the X (cuz I’ll doubt they’ll let me get the latest lol) that will definitely put me on a different upgrade schedule. Unless I keep both my personal and work phones but will see about that.
@sgtstretch I currently have the XS so I’m guessing I still have about another year. I’m going to try as long as I can to paid it off before I upgrade again.
