After some reading about the new iPads, general sentiment seems to be: great but underutilized hardware. And getting more expensive.

@numericcitizen Maybe all that underutilized hardware is in place for something that will be announced software-wise next month?
BTW aren't the new versions of Logic Pro and Final Cut utilizing the upgraded hardware?
@pratik yes but I would guess / argue that they address a minority of iPad Pro users.
@numericcitizen @pratik It's 100% true that the iPads are underutilized - now more than ever. But the software story were never going to be told today, so I don't know why people were expecting otherwise.
If the outlook is just as poor after WWDC, it's a different discussion!
@Havn @numericcitizen Yup. For a company that does its hardware AND software, the ideal announcements would mention both. However, the pundits ought to know that and should hold off on at least that aspect. BTW in case of iPhone, the order is reversed, software gets announced first and then the hardware.
