I really really wish I could use Phanpy for scrolling through my Micro.blog timeline. It is a well-designed interface for a timeline of any sort. The fact that the source code is open is very tempting. But I stop myself every time from signing up for a new project.

@amit I mostly gave up on the micro.blog timeline feature and moved to my mastodon timeline.
I now follow from here and it’s good.
I miss on replies to micro.bloggers I’m not following but I get so much more.
It would be a near perfect solution if there weren’t the occasional replies where threading broke.

But I’m grateful that micro.blog is built in such an open way. Which is why I don’t think I left it, but just hold it in an unusual way.

@amit Check out lillihub.com/app/ . It is built by @heyloura and I find it better to scroll through the timeline with it.

@amit +1 to @heyloura‘s web app. Also, for inspiration and a twist on Loura’s approach, check out the Pipilo app. Like Lillihub, it gives primacy to a post and treat replies as comments. I haven’t used it enough to know how you would track subsequent comments. Does the post pop back up in the timeline?

Phanpy is excellent but isn’t its salient feature the way it handles boosts? Micro.blog doesn’t have that feature in the first place.

@pratik @jrr Loura’s Lillihub also made this decision simpler for me. I agree with you folks, it’s a wonderful alternative interface.

And though Phanpy does handle boosts perfectly, I love the overall interface too. It feels polished and all the small touches are brilliant.

@muhh Yeah, I did that for some time (and do it every now and then). My only problem is it’s not a single account. So notifications are anyway lost. Which then makes me log in to Micro.blog just to check mentions.
